The sacred walk of flamingos

These birds, magnificently graceful and colorful, trample on the mud all day long to find their food in this exceptional and protected environment. And when I fly over the lake where they have decided to land, I enjoy unreal colors, play of light and shadow, subtle and magical moments of wild life. What luck …

Perfect Pitch

The sun has just passed the horizon when I arrive at the end of this incredible archipelago located in the Norwegian Sea. It is not the first time that I come here and this photo, I dream about it for a long time. I settle down and decide to take flight above the last rocks of the most southerly islet. The view is incredible and like every clear evening, in this late winter period, the polar colors settle on the horizon. What a beauty… It’s the perfect pitch

Reflection

This moment, I dreamed of it … Alone in front of the Colosseum on a soft sunny winter morning. And living this moment out of time was even more intense than I could have imagined, with this pool of water left by the rain the night before this morning. Unbelievable

Camargue Rose Gold

There is a place in the south of France where the lakes, generally blue in color, take on an incredible color in spring and summer. This transformation is due to microorganisms which develop in water and thus make it possible to support an exceptional fauna and flora.

Alone in the light

Norway is an incredible country for landscape photographers … I am in a deep valley lost in the middle of the mountains, at the foot of a lake which carries with it a tragic history. A story of Tsunami and villages washed away by the waters. I am there, facing a thick fog which does not allow me to see at 10 meters. All of a sudden, in the space of 5 minutes, the fog dissipates, as if swallowed by the mountains, and lets appear the silhouette of a man on his boat … It’s just incredible!

Jump!

Bajau Laut Children having fun at the sea, right in front of their homes, jumping repeatedly into the sea from the wooden canoe they row. They were called gypsies of the sea, without citizenships, electricity, couldn’t go to school, and excluded from many aspects of modern life. As early as the 15th century, the Bajau Laut moved around freely in the Sulu Zone. Many chose to stay on land in the emerging nation-states, while others chose to roam free at sea.

Masai Goat Herder

As climate change brings hotter summers, cattle are becoming less well suited to arid regions of Kenya. Smaller animals such as goats are better able to tolerate high temperatures, that’s why it’s noticeable in many Masai villages that Masai Herders are beginning to switch from cattle to goats.

The Bajau Brothers

Four young Bajau Laut brothers, posing proudly in front of their homes.

I was helping my wife and friends taking underwater photographs for their IDC course, and did a lot of dives at this beautiful Sibuan Island of Semporna. As I get bored shooting the same repeating diving skills photos, I went back to the boat for a break and saw some Bajau Laut children playing at the beach where their homes were. luckily the boat man speaks Bajau Language, and he helped translate and ask them if I could photograph them. They were happy to be photographed by me and I ended up spending whole afternoon having fun playing with and photographing them, until my skin got sun-burnt.

Floating village

I was helping my wife and friends taking underwater photographs for their IDC course, and did a lot of dives at this beautiful Kalapuan Island of Semporna. As I get bored shooting the same repeating diving skills photos, I went back to the boat for a break and saw a nearby floating village of Bajau Laut. luckily the boat man speaks Bajau Language, and he helped translate and ask them if I could photograph them. They were happy to be photographed by me and I ended up spending whole afternoon having fun playing with and photographing them, until my skin got sun-burnt.

Fish Storm

Free diver diving into a school of Jackfish, at one of the most beautiful island in the world, Sipadan Island. My wife is a skilled free diver, as we visited the amazing Sipadan Island of Malaysia, I dived under the water and waited her to dive towards the middle of the jackfish repeatedly, until I got this beautiful shot of her surrounded with storm of jackfish.
