The First Edition of the Malta International Photo Awards received submissions from all over the world across the five categories of Abstract, Cities, Nature, People and Storytelling.

In the process of reading Dante’s Divine Comedy, the author was inspired to make a number of photo- illustrations for a book.

'The Rorschach Winter'
The winter in Rorschach is silent white light and the sun does not set. It reminds the author of Carcosa’s summers and their elongated shadows.

A globalization photographic series that explores the transformation of the concept of the individual in Western society. This photo reflects on the purely mercantile value that individual currently has, a simple product that consumes and is consumable.

The photo ‘Solo for Electric Violin’ is part of a wider series with the same theme. An electric violin is a wonderful instrument that inspired an abstract motif that would express its versatility and dynamism, and its lightness and rock hardness at the same time.

Through photography the author communicates the emotions that he is feeling in that moment to the observer, allowing the viewer to see the world through the author’s eyes.

‘Porcelain China’ presents a take on sensory systems and expressionistic photography what draws its core from classic film photography. It’s difficult to summarize the content without pointing to the thoughtful melancholic mood that emanates from the series.
